I got my private pilot license in a C152 just like this, and this is as close to the real thing as you can get. The handling and performance is very realistic, as well as the cockpit panel, layout, and aesthetics. The only negative is that it doesn't look quite right at night... the instrument panel is too bright. Otherwise a fantastic, easy and fun plane to fly!. OWN THIS!!!(As promised, I have edited my review since I was able to figure out a fuel issue I was having - if you're having a fuel issue, read the bottom - it's NOT the DLC!)What I love about this: the sound and details. I bought this because I'm training right now and it looks like I'll be soloing in this exact model soon, so I wanted to be familiar (even the interior is nearly exact to the one picture I took!). If a 152 II is/was in your past, present or future, you definitely should buy this, because everything about it is stunning. If you're familiar with the process, the .cfg file is easy to edit if you need to change the avionics to represent any 152 II that you'd like (I needed a NAV/COM stack with standby and slightly newer transponder). In summary, if you enjoy the old-school Cessnas, you'll love this DLC. Awesome. As mentioned above - if you're having a fuel issue where you're only using one tank, either left or right, it's almost certainly because you loaded this aircraft AFTER starting the sim into another aircraft with the selector not set to BOTH. This happened to me because I had be default flight set to a 172 with the selector set to LEFT and then loaded this aircraft while sitting at the field. I'm sure this issue will affect ANY gravity-fed fuel system, not just this DLC. Just load this plane directly from the free flight options to avoid it. If you're like me and save as you go, you'll need to edit your saved .FLT file "tank" settings to "All" instead of either "Left" or "Right".. I am not a pilot myself, but I am (studying) to be an A and P. The school I study at has a couple C152s within the hanger, and we have spent many hours studying the ins and outs of these aircraft. So while I am not familiar with the flight characteristics of a real 152, I know its design. And I must say, this addon has the aircraft modeled perfectly. My person favorite details include the ability to open the doors, windows, ash trays and glove box, as well as the ability to use the sun visor and manually spin the elevator trim wheel. Maybe not great selling points to pilots, but to any detail oriented individuals, you may appreciate these as much as I did. The engine sounds are also very nice quality and a good feature in this pack. The C152 is a small aircraft, and so I wasn't sure this pack would be worth the price, but the absolute attention to detail has me completely sold. Well done devs.. A great plane! If you are looking for the real deal, this one is it! Grew up in a pilot savvy family and have been flying Cessna’s since childhood. With that said we don’t need to brag about hours in the cockpit, but instead should discuss how many hours that we will be spending enjoying this wonderfully accurate recreation of the 152. Just like the real 150’s and 152’s this DLC doesn’t have an autopilot. If you want to stare at the views for hours while flying with the aid of autopilot, then go with the 172. If you want a realistic experience which requires accurate true to life piloting skills to master, this is the perfect Cessna for you! All original cockpit with old school radios and gauges creates the exact environment in which one is required to master before getting their actual pilots license. I enjoy using maps and writing down coordinates the original way, setting the gauges, and watching for gyro drift while still making it accurately to destinations without the aid of GPS. Only us old school pilots love these aspects to flying, and can be accurately practiced with this quality DLC. Pilot tested, and brother approved!. I decided to give this a go as I am considering training in a real C152. For the sale price, I was not disappointed. Handling is as expected. However the aircraft is very bare bones: only two radio stacks and no frequency swapping, ILS is only for left/right, the GPS is a Garmin 295 (at least it has a GPS!), and there is no autopilot - not even hitting Z works. With the pull to the left my flight involved a lot of right turns to keep my aircraft from veering off course. A lot of real 152s don't have autopilot anyway, but if you want a relaxing flight from Point A to Point B and enjoy the view this aircraft won't give you that because it demands a lot of trimming and attention. The view from the virtual cockpit is tinted and unfortunately there are no options to change it to a non-tinted view. The included manual only includes references and checklists - no instructions. The add-on itself works and it is realistic, so I must give it an unenthusiastic thumb up. I would only recommend this aircraft to people that intend to simulate, train, and fly in virtual and real C152s.. This plane is a wonderful addition to your virtual hangar. Carenado pays special attention to the little detail such as moveable sun visors, windows that can be opened etc. There is an ADF and VOR, though no ILS (this is a Cessna 152). I had some trouble setting the ADF at first, but it did not take long to figure out that you have to hold the mouse slightly below the frequency numbers to set the entire frequency. The flight characteristics are exactly like the real thing, and combined with Accu-Feel, it is almost like climbing into the actual plane. A great way to see the country side from a new perspective.. Although the addon strictly speaking is 'accurate', it is now of the high quality that I expected my 14.99 to be worth. I am training in real life for a PPL on the Cessna 152, and I wish for a more accurate and usable simulator version for when I am not flying in real life.
